An editorial atlas of the wine-producing world — six continents, forty-odd countries, a thousand-odd appellations.

Wine grows on every continent except Antarctica, but the working map is narrower than that. Six wine continents, roughly forty countries with a continuous tradition, and a small set of regions whose names — Bourgogne, Barolo, Rioja, Mendoza, Marlborough — have become the working vocabulary of the trade.
